Getting Started....

I've never "blogged" before, so hopefully this all works OK. Also, any blogging advice is much appreciated!

First off, a little about myself....

I'm a graduate student at NC State, majoring in engineering. Pretty square huh? I bet you think I love to sit by my calculator punching numbers and scratching my beard all day, right? Wrong! First, I'm a girl, so I don't have a beard; and second, I'm surprisingly interested in hobbies such as gardening, painting, singing, and cooking.

A little about why I'm starting this blog.....

I actually have a minor in Horticulture, but shamefully, I never learned how to identify plants! Sure, I know an occasional tree or shrub, but I want to know more. After visiting the local arboretum a couple times, I learned to identify a few more plants , but it wasn't doing the trick. My boyfriend suggested I do a "blog" to get outside help. So, here I am!

I will continue posting what I learn, and hopefully with help from you all, I can be a plant pro in no time!
